Restore Her Project is a Grimmius hands program that focuses on transforming the lives of vulnerable young women in Uganda through mentorship, discipleship, training them in trade, life skill training and counselling.

The program also addresses critical issues like early pregnancy, extreme poverty, inequality, domestic violence and all other kinds of physical and emotional abuse.

Objective

To ultimately empower girls, their families and community members, and support collective action to reduce teenage pregnancies.

Program Purpose

Our desire is to graciously and lovingly bring hope where lives have been torn apart and healing into the most painful places. The purpose of this program is to influence culture and retrogressive traditional mindsets in so many Ugandan communities. We envision young women coming into healthy God fearing marriages, where they can raise a family and also engage dignified employment.

Our Model

This program aims at enhancing the lives of vulnerable young women to end the vicious cycles, that leads to early pregnancy, increasing school dropout rates, prostitution…etc. We believe that every young woman is valuable and worthy of love and grace.

This program empowers vulnerable young women to break cycles of poverty, early pregnancy, and school dropouts. We believe every young woman deserves dignity, love, and opportunity.

Grimmius Hands focuses on three key areas:

  • Train a Trade: Equip women with business skills.
  • Mentorship: Provide counseling and guidance.
  • Empowerment: Support women in starting micro-businesses to achieve self-sufficiency.

Our holistic approach aims to restore dignity, renew hope, and rekindle purpose in every young woman’s life.

What we do through Restore Her

A survey by Uganda Debt Network revealed key challenges facing Uganda’s Universal Primary Education (UPE):

Through this programme, we practically do the following:

  1. We empower women by helping them start and run micro-businesses and give them the ability to be self-sufficient.
  2. We train the young women in different skills which include business startup and management skills, this we do through partnership with churches, communities and other like-minded organizations.
  3. We provide educational support from elementary level to university and also support some through vocational trainings
  4. Grimmius hands also supports struggling families by improving their living conditions and we also support these young women with essential medical expenses.
  5. We renovate dilapidated homes and set up decent permanent structures
